Christmas 2007Both Bishop Clive and Dr Ian Young received awards in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for 2007. The Order of St Michael and St George. To the Right Reverend George Clive Handford. Formerly Bishop in Cyprus and The Gulf, Presiding Bishop of the Province of Jerusalem. For services to promoting inter-faith dialogue in the Arab world. CMG Order of the British Empire. To The Venerable Dr Thomas Ian Young. For pastoral and community services in Qatar. It has also been announced that Bishop Clive is to be Assistant Bishop (Ripon and Leeds). Sincere congratulations and good wishes are offered to them both from their many friends in the Diocese and beyond.
