    Brian Hurford Obituary

    BRIAN HURFORD

    Tom Hamlin writes:

Brian, a faithful member of the Anglican fellowship in Ruwi, Muscat, Oman, passed away in April. He was travelling with Veronica to Oman to visit his daughter, when he became ill and was rushed to hospital in Bahrain, and died there three weeks later. His funeral was held in Kilmarnock, Scotland.

We remember with deep gratitude his Christian life and witness and his great love for Scripture distribution in Oman. We first met Brian some 20 years ago with David Mitchell, when we were visiting Oman and seeking to open a Bible Centre at Ruwi. From day one Brian was with us in our vision and was an ardent volunteer and supporter.

Many regular attenders of Synod will recall Brian, who for a good number of years represented Oman. He always helped enliven Synod by his cheery personality and common sense. He was often in the bar at the Lordos Beach Hotel until after midnight, discussing this and that, and putting the world and the church to rights.
