Province of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East

Map of the Province of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East

The Province of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East was formed in January 1976 from the former Jerusalem Archbishopric. It covers an immense geographical area including the lands of the Bible and the countries where Judaism, Christianity, and Islam were born. It is a meeting place of ancient and modern civilisations and cultures. Throughout the Middle East the religion of Islam predominates. The Province ministers as a tiny minority church of perhaps 30,000 members and affiliates, and comprises four dioceses:

Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf
Episcopal/Anglican Diocese of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa
Diocese of Iran
Diocese of Jerusalem
