Scenes from Christian Communities in Gambella
Communities in Gambella region of Ethiopia

Following the historic go-ahead for the formation of a new Anglican Communion Province of Alexandria, JMECA is looking forward to a positive future for Christianity in the Middle East.  With steady growth of Christianity in certain parts of the Middle East in recent years and the creation of a new Area Bishop position for Gambella, the two Episcopal Provinces in the Middle East will be represented as follows:

Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East

  • Diocese of Jerusalem
  • Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf
  • Diocese of Iran

Province of Alexandria

  • Diocese of Egypt
  • Diocese of North Africa
  • Diocese of the Horn of Africa
  • Diocese of Gambella

With the fast growth of the Church in Ethiopia, the new Area Bishop of Gambella, Bishop Rajan Vincent Jacob will be placing strong focus on nurture of the young.  Through Youth Ministry and the Mother’s Union, combined with ongoing community development projects, we can look forward to a future of renewed hope throughout Gambella, as well as the rest of the newly formed Province of Alexandria.
