JMECA is a UK-based charity and registered as a UK company. Its sole purpose is to support the Province of the Episcopal (Anglican) Church in Jerusalem & the Middle East and the Province of Alexandria.
Providing financial support:
Through the generosity of donors and the income earned on invested funds, JMECA assists the provinces with funding of approximately £250,000 each year to support the local clergy and their work in the communities they serve. This includes diocesan run schools, hospitals and other foundations. To find out more about how the money is raised visit our funds and finances page.
Raising awareness and informing:
To inform people about the life of the church in the Middle East, JMECA publishes a twice-yearly magazine called Bible Lands, which is sent, free of charge, to parishes and individuals who wish to receive it. You can request your own copy of Bible Lands or download the latest edition.
Encouraging prayer:
Your prayers are of vital importance to the work of the dioceses and the Christian communities they support. Through prayer, you are connected with people from all around the world. When you pray, you lift up those who are disadvantaged, such as those with disabilities, the persecuted, prisoners, and refugees.
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
Matthew 25 v40
