The Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf has just adopted new Vision and Mission statements in anticipation of its fiftieth anniversary next year.

The Diocesan Synod held a special evening meeting by zoom to hear an interim report from the Bishop's Task Force. Their work, mandated by Synod at its February meeting includes a wide brief which involves examining issues related to Diocesan representation, Episcopal oversight and structure. Their first task was to devise a form of words that expresses the mission of the Diocese from which future work will derive, itself based on a vision of its role in the coming years. That vision is, to be:
A diocese of the Anglican Communion offering Christian belonging and witness in the historic biblical lands of Cyprus and the Gulf.
That description, and its practical consequences are spelled out further in a series of three missional aspirations.
To be a visible Christian presence of love, compassion and integrity in the countries of the Diocese
To offer discipleship, hospitality and community to Christians
To promote peace and understanding through ecumenical and interfaith dialogue
Also, Synod heard that a Provincial Clergy and Spouses Conference will be held in Paphos in April 2026.
Reports on the second phase of the Task Force's work will be presented to a residential meeting of Synod in Bahrain in February.
