Dean Richard Sewell, Dean of St George's College Jerusalem, successfully completed the Palestine Half Marathon yesterday (8th May).

He writes, "It was a beautiful mass participation community event on this 10th anniversary of the first Palestine Marathon. It has been cancelled in the past couple of years because of the war, so it felt all the more special to have a happy celebration event despite everything that continues to go on in Palestine and throughout the region."
Some 8000 people were expected to rake part in the event which centered on Bethlehem
Richard was a late entrant to the run which he entered to attract sponsorship to support the ministry of the Diocese of Jerusalem, through JMECA. It was his first public distance run for some time. He ran in the London Marathon of 2010 but has not attempted anything so ambitious as a Half Marathon for several years. Well done to him!
There's still time to mark Richard's achievement with a sponsorship
