Last week at the JMECA Annual General Meeting we were delighted to hear Bishop Mouneer's report, presented by his representative on the JMECA council, Phillip Southby.

We are so grateful for the Lord who, in his faithfulness, has sustained the Diocese all of these years. In the words of our Bishop Mouneer,
We are convicted that the Lord has sustained the Diocese for a purpose these last 200 years, and we pray that the Lord would fulfill his purpose through us.
There are many things we can thank God for this year and we encourage you to read the full report, but if you are short of time, here are just a few highlights:

We thank God for giving us success in our desire to engage with our society through the Together We Develop Egypt project (Phase II), our Community Development Programs, and our Interfaith Dialogue among religious leaders as well as youth.

We are privileged to serve around 25,000 refugees who have come to Egypt fleeing war, political instability, and violence in Syria, South Sudan, Somalia, and other countries.

The Gambela Region, within the Episcopal/Anglican Region of The Horn of Africa is continuing to grow. We are hoping to see it become an independent diocese.

We are witnessing a great expansion in the ministry of women throughout the diocese. We rejoice at the very successful Diocesan Women’s Conference in Cairo. From the Mother’s Union in Gambela, to the variety of women’s ministries in Port Said, women all throughout the diocese are actively seeking to serve our Lord and to love His church.

So many of the projects begun in recent years are yielding fruit and making the Diocese financially self-supporting. God blessed us so much financially, and this prompted us to start Anglican Relief and Development Fund, Egypt (ARDF Egypt) to support other ministries within and outside Egypt.

We hope and dream to grow from a missionary diocese into a missionary province. We are convicted that the Lord has sustained the Diocese for a purpose these last 200 years, and we pray that the Lord would fulfill his purpose through us.

We are continuing in our vision to develop new leaders who have the vision to serve the church and our society.
Please continue to pray for Bishop Mouneer, Bishop Samy, all the clergy, and all the members of our broad and diverse Diocesan family!
