Raid on St Andrew's Anglican Church in Ramallah

The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem condemns the flagrant attack on St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Ramallah which took place in the early hours of August 18,2022

The Diocese reports that at 3am on the August 18th, Israel military forces broke the lock and glass of the door to St Andrew's Anglican Church and for two hours occupied the complex including the church, it's office, hall and rectory and the Arab Episcopal Medical Centre. The sound of gunshots and stun grenades filled the families living inside the compound with fear. The Israeli forces later explained their presence as a raid on the offices of Al Haq, a human rights legal centre which rents an office from St Andrew's, but which has a completely separate entrance from the church.

Below is the full statement from Archbishop Hosam Naoum, Archbishop in Jerusalem condemning the attack on the sacred place of worship and calling for a speedy impartial investigation into the incident along with disciplinary action against the offenders.
