David has been a Director of JMECA since 2003 when he retired from HM Diplomatic Service after 36 years service mainly in the Middle East. His postings overseas included Beirut, Baghdad, Doha, Durban and Atlanta.
David raised funds to build the first Anglican Church in Qatar during his final posting as Ambassador in Doha. He maintained his connections with the church’s work in the Middle East when he joined JMECA.
David currently advises his ex FCO colleagues about retirement. He was elected to Guildford Borough Council in 2003 and was Deputy Leader, handling Finance and Budgetary issues. He is vice Chair of the Surrey Hills Board and is the Founding Chairman of the SurreySave Credit Union.
David is married with five children.
