It has been a very busy six months since the previous edition of Bible Lands with many changes in the provinces and also within JMECA. As we went to print news of the first hints of a cease-fire in the conflict between Israel and Gaza were filtering through and we had just launched the donation page for the Archbishop in Jerusalem's appeal to support the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza.
The Province of Alexandria has not been immune from COVID or conflict. Although it has faded from our television screens and news feeds, the situation in Tigray remains desperate. At a humanitarian level, Bishop Kuan Seng and the Diocese of the Horn of Africa is seeking to respond through the newly created Ethiopian Anglican Church Social and Development Organisation. In this magazine, however, we focus elsewhere in Ethiopia with news of an appeal for the completion of the Diocese of Gambella’s mother church, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd.
